THE BOGMAN
BIO
The Bogmen formed in 1990 and built a devoted following touring the East Coast with their mix of rock, soul, afrobeat and power pop, selling out major venues before being signed by Clive Davis at Irving Plaza. Their 1994 debut album, Life Begins at 40 Million, produced by Jerry Harrison, earned critical acclaim and radio success with songs like "Suddenly," "Yellar," and "Englewood."
The band toured with major acts including Shane MacGowan, Barenaked Ladies, and Guster, released a second album, Closed Caption Radio, and disbanded in 1998 due to frustrations with the music industry and internal creative differences. They reunited periodically, releasing live recordings and the EP Looking for Heaven in the Barrio before stepping away again.
Now, twenty six years after their last full length album, The Bogmen return with In My Kingdom, recorded between 2021 and 2023 and released on May 31. Created during the pandemic and following the loss of a close friend, the album reflects themes of love, compassion, spirituality, recovery, and community. Band members Billy Campion and Brendan Ryan describe the record as a response to isolation, division, grief, and renewal.
The album blends self reflection with the band's signature anthemic sound. Highlights include the title track "In My Kingdom," "Little Bird," "Babbling Brook of Love," "Where the Goddess Goes," "Summer of Soul," and a reimagined version of "Raga." Throughout the record, The Bogmen explore healing, resilience, and connection, reaffirming the enduring spirit that has sustained their loyal fanbase for decades.
Decades after their formation, The Bogmen continue to sell out venues and attract new listeners. In My Kingdom stands as both a continuation of their story and a testament to a band whose music remains relevant, vital, and deeply meaningful.
